It had taken a while, but the two had gotten back to the car. Jordan unlocked it and placed Skwisgaar in the back seat.

"Are you feeling all right?"

"I ams… outs of rooms." Skwisgaar couldn't fully lie down unless he folded his legs. "I ams tireds enough's. I wills bes asleeps soon."

"He should be out by now," she said, concerned. "Skwisgaar, I'm gonna go back."

"Wow, you ams really… worrieds. You sures? You could gets kills."

"It's worth it. I care about him."

"A lots, obvlilusly. I could even say… you ams in loves."

Was she in love? Did she love him? Did he love her back?

"I could be," she told him. "Go to sleep, I'll be back soon… hopefully."

***

When she walked into the first room, she was relieved to find that the poison gas alarm had been turned off. Pretty soon, she was in the next room.

She had gone out with Skwisgaar before, so she hadn't really had the chance to look at the room, but she noticed that the floor was clear, probably made of glass, and it was built on top of the ocean. She could see the water directly below her, and got nervous. The glass could break any second. She had walked across with Skwisgaar before, and several others had probably done the same, too. She was probably safe.

There was a line in the floor that separated one glass sheet from another. It must have been a trap door or something. Probably not the safest thing to be standing on, but…

Just then, she heard a noise, like metal scraping against glass. Before she could run, a metal cuff latched on to her ankle. She looked down. It was connected to a chain, and the chain was attached to a metal cube about 2 square feet. It was too heavy for her to move. She instinctively pulled out her gun.

"Don't fire," she heard a voice, and 4 people entered the room. One was a young man with short black hair, and he was also holding a gun. Another man was also pretty young, and he had medium length blond hair. He was holding a remote control, possibly the one that had moved the heavy metal object all the way across the room. The third man was older, with light grey hair, and his hand was firmly clamped on another man's wrist. Her heart sunk once she looked into the eyes of that man.

Ofdensen looked like he was in really bad shape. His white shirt was largely red, and it had been sliced open in various places. There was blood all over the left side of his face. His face had a look of defeat on it.

"I've heard about you from Glenn," Stampingston told her. "The truth is, we don't really need you around here. We'd really like to kill you right now."

She was extremely tense. This was it. She was gonna die, and Ofdensen would have to watch.

"But we're gonna give you a choice. Look to your right." She did. The man holding the remote control had moved over there.

"My assistant here is holding a remote control. Now, look down." She looked at the trap door she was standing on.

"With just a push of a button, this trap door will open. That weight you're attached to? It will pull you down. This is a deep ocean, and you'll hit the bottom fast."

She was so scared, she couldn't breathe.

"If you fire that gun, he'll push the button. Unless… you shoot the man with the controls. I wouldn't do that, though."

The man with the gun shoved the barrel right into the side of Ofdensen's face.

"If you shoot him to save your life, your life is saved. The key is with him," he pointed at the man with the gun, who held it up so she could see. "If you do that, however… your friend over here will die."

She was breathing heavily, and tears started to roll down her cheeks, along with beads of sweat.

"YOU BASTARD!" She screamed at him.

"Now, I have things I need to be doing," Stampingston said as he started to leave the room. "Now, I don't want you to take too long… or else both of you will die."

Once he left the room, she really started to panic. She wasn't prepared at all to make this kind of decision. She knew that she would rather die than watch him be killed. There was no other way. Was there a chance she could be saved? She contemplated shooting herself to save her from a painful drowning death.

She had a clear shot. There was no way she could miss. She could save Ofdensen's life. She could also save her own life.

"Jordan, don't panic. Save your own life."

"I-I-" she couldn't.

"Once they kill me, they'll take-"

"Not another word," said the man with the gun, pressing the barrel into his face even more.

"Charles…" She took a deep breath, tears streaming down her face, as she prepared to fire. "I love you."

She pulled the trigger. She heard another gunshot. Then she was plunged into the cold water below.
And I'm gonna leave you guys hanging right here.

Are we gonna get to find out what happened? Even if you don't rewrite the story, I'm curious.
